Sorry if it is teaching you to suck eggs, but have you been to the RVCS website? They have lots and lots of advice on how to train to be a Veterinary Nurse, I was interested in how good their information is, as I am also thinking about changing careers and where I have looked hasn't always been so helpful. They have a leaflet about how to become a veterinary nurse, and a list of veterinary surgerys that can provide vocational training.

They have a list of training providers, with numbers. Why not give one or two a call, and ask for advice on how to apply or what you should be doing and go from there. I am sure they wouldn't mind.

As I think Rufio is implying, I think he should be applying for any old job - if he's being picky he's not likely to find employment for a long time considering this current economy! Once he's got a job he can still apply for jobs he really wants to do, but at least he'd be earning something in the mean-time.

Try not to let the work stuff get to you too much, - it's a recession after all.

I remember when I left school, getting the jobs paper and it was about 20-50 pages thick, a proper sized newspaper. I got one the other day and it was just one page, and I was only qualified for about 4 of the jobs advertised, and even then, it was at a push.

Hmm not the most helpful then. What about the colleges that provide training? Have you contacted them? They might be able to give some more advice. Has anyone looked at your cv and applications? there might be something that is just not getting the interviewers eye.

Didn't you say you had Asperger's, Manufacture? Is there any chance that could be holding you back? If so, there might be ways you can adjust to compensate for it.

It's not mean to make your boyfriend realise how much he has from you and the only effective way is to stop doing it for a while
