Congratulations on your results - not sure why your dad is being like this -maybe he has had a bad day and is taking it out on you. Are you happy with the results?? Does it enable you to go onto to do what you want to do? If so then ignore you dad (can you explain to him that his reaction upset you??)

x

Thanks you guys.
I was happy with them aswell.
i have more results to come next week,
i'll put the rest of the results up.

Everyone said the same thing tbh,
he expected more but i tried my best.

In the end
he said sorry for being so 'hard' on me.

Well done on your results :] You've done great. The minimum most jobs require is 5 C's or above, and you've already got that without the rest of your results :] It's nice that your dad said he was sorry. It was probably just one of those "if you praise them too much, they won't keep up their hard work" kind of things. There's a proper phrase, I just don't know it :] Good luck for your future x x

Congratulations on your results :)
my mum did exactly the same thing to me when i got my results, i got 5 B's and 4 C's i was so chuffed and proud of myself but all my mum said was 'you couldve done better'.
I wanted to go to college but i was seriously discouraged, i still went anyway but had to drop out after my first year for various different reasons one of them being was the fact my mum was a complete control freak and i was so naive and young that i did every single thing she wanted me too,
but what really really hurts is the fact that my younger sister continously got away with everything, bunked off school and basically failed all her GCSE's and yet she was encouraged to go to college?? !!!
i still to do this day cant work it out and it still hurts 7 years on, but what i guess im trying to say is that i learned to live my life for me and not for my parents because at the end of the day you are the one that has to live with your feelings.

You Dad is being ridiculous. I think you did really well, a lot better than many of the people I know! Parents expectations can be too high sometimes, and they need to realise that you're human too.

At least the rest of your family have been really supportive.

As long as you're happy with your results, don't let anyone tell you any different.
