Memorizing!

Postby Jess1234 » Tue Jan 03, 2006 6:13 pm

I have my german speaking exam tomorrow and i have to memorize a 5 minute long script which has 6 sections. i can do the first 2 sections easily and the 3rd is alright aswell its just the last three that I'm really having trouble remembering! If anyone has advice on how to remember them and fast it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jess

Please check whether this is allowed before you do it! In my French oral we had to memorise a narrative without reading it, BUT we were allowed to take in pictures to the exam. Most people had some fantstic cartoon picture storyboards of their narrative and if you can see WHAT you are meant to be talking about it halfway helps to memorising HOW to say it. LIke I say, check with your teacher that this is allowed. It may helpeven if you dont take it into the exam though just to make things more visual in your mind.

Good Luck!!!

We weren't allowed any words for our french oral so I made up a little symbol storyboard - e.g. 'qui' was a picture of a key, a bit like a phonetic alphabet - and ours was on keeping fit so I had a picture of an apple for 'pomme' and a football for 'le foot'. Maybe you can also do something like that?

We are only allowed 60 keywords to help us we aren't allowed 2 use pictures or anything! I would find that easier to use than words

Ahhh alright then...have you tried putting it on tape/CD and playing it back to yourself? When you hear it out loud it tends to stick in your mind - have you got time to do that tonight?
