unemployment :(

Postby PinkBlueBird » Thu Jul 16, 2009 8:24 pm

I've been unemployed for the last 3 months, and it's really bringing me down.

For a start, I have hardly any money, and the money I do have I spend on train tickets so that I can see my boyfriend who lives miles away (he chips in too, and gives me lifts home when I need them), so I can't do very much with myself, aside from my almost obsessive job search.

I hate it that my brother always starts on about how the credit crunch isn't as bad as they say, and that it's all hype, beacuse he has a steady job, and because I lost my job due to the credit crunch, and now I can't seem to get a new one because of it.

I'm stuck in the house all day with my mum, who tries to control everything I do, right down to the clothes I buy and the friends I see and what times I'm allowed to see my boyfriend, and it makes me miserable.

My boyfriend and I want to look into moving in together, so that we can be together, and also so that I can get away from my mum, but until I get a job that won't be possible..

I just feel really trapped, like my life isn't going anywhere, like I'm a useless layabout, and all the plans I had started making before I lost my job have stopped in their tracks.
I know I'll find something eventually, but that hasn't stopped me feeling down.

ok are you loking for any job initailly, even if it's not one you want, You are more emploable if you're employed.
Try part time as well as full time
Supermarket are hiring, my daughter just go a 2nd part time job at a supermarket and I know others who have part time work recently
Volunteer work looks good on your cv so try and get some of that even if between part time work, it also opens up the posibility of meeting people who can offer you jobs
Don't listen to yout brother, it's easy for him to say so don't let him annoy you
Have you got someone to check your CV and make sure it's ok
Lastly have you tried temp agencies
