You say you don't know why you do it. I think you do. If you look for a reason you will find it. It may be that you do it because you have made it a routine part of your life. It isn't doing you or your loved ones any good. Tell us how it goes. :)

Hi!

Hi Briz babe, battling Bullimia is a long but very valuable process the fact that you have admitted it is one step of the way. A lot of people sufferign from eating disorders whether its Bullimia,Anorexia or Compulsive Eating deny that they have a problem because to them the destruction that they are doing to their body is normal.(for the want of a better word) Go back to your GP and get another diagnosis for Bullimia because there could be other issues that need addressing at the same time. Your GP should have referred you to a specialist dietician who will work with you to gently increase and keep down the food you eat. They start with balance meals of say one small jacket potato and a table-spoon of baked beans etc then the next week they will add a table spoon more to your meal requirements. You need to do this under constant supervison so you need to tell your dad and be as open and honest with him about what you have/haven't eaten. He will have to be cruel to be kind with you and make you sit and digest the meal in front of him without rushing upstairs to be sick. Then you will need to give counselling another go and work of your perceptions of your body image, what you like about yourself etc. To build up the knowledge in yourself that you need to be well.
Bullimia is a terribly destructive illness, a very close friend of mine suffered in silence for two years and I cried like a baby when i found out that she hadn't shared her torment with me. Her problem was that lads in the class were calling her fat but I knew it was coz they fancied her and not coz they wanted to be malicious. Her hair went all wispy, her teeth started to rot and she lost a considerable amount of weight.
Its all about realising your self worth and how much you mean to people whether you're thin/fat or whatever. Your mom should've known better than to call you fat at an impressionable age but blaming people doesn't get you anywhere.

Make sure when you ask for help you get it! Put your foot down!

Good luck and keep us posted of your success.

xxxx

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a terrible time.
The above advice is excellent, and I can only agree 100%. Bullimia, like anorexia, begins as a mental disorder and comes down to your self-esteem. I don't think it was right for your mother say you were once fat- I think that could only add to the situation. First off, I think you should definitely go back to the doctors, and as Beckyt said, should referr you to a specialist, as they are the ones who can really begin to help you on your road to recovery.

I'm sorry I can't offer more advice :( but in the meantime, try and keep a positive attitude and eat small meals to the best of your ability, and try and control yourself not to run upstairs. And also, build up the confidence to tell your father about what's going on. Once he knows, he can keep an eye on you and try to help you.

Good luck xxx

I also agree with Beckyt. I have never had an eating disorder, but maybe you have to find out what makes you do it. For instance if you feel relieved when you throw up or maybe you feel more confident. I don't know how you feel but if you figure out you feel then maybe you can start to find another way of having that same feeling. It may not be easy but if you stick to the advice that peope have given you then you can succeed!
When you reach for the stars, you may not quite get them, but you won't come up with a handful of mud either.

Just remember to keep smiling!

Good luck with the diet!
If you are overweight, that's probably why you want to make yourself sick. And it's turned into a habit.
Once you start having a problem with food, I find that you hate it so much that you feel SO 'unclean' for eating it and feel the need to purge to 'keep things under control'.
You should try to make 'keeping to your new diet' into a habit to replace the bulimia.
I hope you feel better soon!xxx
