i need a skill

Postby aimee47 » Sat Feb 11, 2006 5:01 pm

I've just started my sliver Duke of Edinburgh Award, and I don't no what to do for my skill. I have to do it for 6 months. For my bronze I took cooking lessons.

Any ideas?

Are you into sports? Maybe you could teach young kids? Alternatively maybe something like art?

If you go to the library, you'll be able to see details of where all the clubs and classes like that are in your area. You might be able to get a few ideas from there.

Incidentally, when I did my D of E, I did piano lessons as my skill.

I remember doing my Duke of Edinburgh awards. I got my Gold in 2004 and went to Buckingham Palace for it.

Anyway I did handwriting for bronze skill
writing for silver
and studied Christian Theology for Gold which co-incided with my a-level course.

When I was deciding what to study at college, I though about all of the things I'd ever dreamed of doing and then looked into how I could do it.

In the end I decided on film and now I'm at uni studying it!

Spend some time thinking about what you'd really like to do, then look at the options you have. If it's not there, you may be able to fine something similar.

Yes it was, although just remembered think it was St James Palace!!

Had a great day, met the Duke of Edinburgh and Alan Knowles from the Antiques roadshow presented the awards.
