Last year mine was to stop smoking.............I lasted until about 10 am New Years Day.....
Next tuesday will be a whole year since I last smoked.............so there you go, your resoloution does not HAVE to sart at midnight...

My new years resolutions are
1. to cut down on the old fags and get fitter
2. to work harder at uni!!
3. find a NICE man!

1 - be less shy
2 - if a fuss needs to be made, i WILL make a fuss!
3 - get fitter and tone up my belly (i'm not fat but it needs to be tamed and i can't even run for a bus without nearly fainting!)
4 - stop being TOO honest but don't lie either (i'm too honest so i accidentily hurt people sometimes when i dont mean to)
5 - tell the peole i love that i love them at least once a week

iii. Work a bit harder at my coursework
iv. Live with no regrets
v. Excercise thrice a week

Try to give up smoking
Do some exercise (and stop hiding/running away from) my tennis coach when I see him in the street!)
Start doing 5 a day every day
Stop snapping at my bf
Stop drinking beer

as always my new years resouloution is whatever life throws at me ill keep smiling and think positive. also try too help and cheer my pp friends up a little.

No fags or beer so far! Less good on the veg and exercise front but I'll add them in as and when.
Haven't snapped at bf as he has been ill with a chest infection so that would just be mean! His chest infection is good from one point of view though as he hasn't smoked either since the 31st - hooray for us!

Had one beer last night - kinda forgot
But still no fags. Also on what would normally be a boozy night out I had one beer, one glass of wine and one limoncello.

Well my toning up is not starting until all the Christmas food has been eaten - damn these chocolates.
The weight is all on hips, thighs and waist. Any ideas on which exercises I can do to tone these areas - bearing in mind I have a bad back so can't do anything over strenuous and I don't want to lose the little bit I've finally got on my chest

Kitten, are you a member of a gym or leisure centre? Yoga and Pilates type exercises work wonders! However to see results you need to do some cardio work too, which is what I'm doing at the gym at the moment....30 minutes on treadmill (not easy AT ALL) and then selection of weights.
I wish I could afford a personal trainer

I was a member of a gym but was finding it rather expensive since I struggle on the gym equipment so was using it for Pilates and Swimming.
Since then I've got a price list from local pool and they do the above so hope to get going there when I've got over my cold.
Think I used to manage about 10 minutes on the treadmill and only walking fast.
A personal trainer and dietician would be great
Have a pilates for lower back pain DVD which I really should get out of the box and a skipping rope - so hopefully skipping rope would cover the cardio do you think?
