Postby crazy_in_love » Fri Apr 20, 2007 12:33 am

Now we all know that they have the tendancy to come out with some of the most stupid things youll ever hear, so i thought id share a few of my funniest and if anyone else has any, or even if youve been that customer then share please!!

ok well i work at Millies Cookies and I have been asked for quite a few alarming things, here goes;

I have been asked if we sell, chicken, kebab, doughnuts, bread rolls, cookies, chocoate eclairs and many more..

I have been asked whats in the coffee, what is a hot drink and more.

I had a lady come up and ask me if our cookies contained milk, i said yes they did and asked her why she wanted to know... her respone because shes on weight watchers and cant have milk!!! hmm i think the fat and grease may be more of a problem.
Theres many more ill post when i remember

On showing a lady some house details of a house that had a downstairs bathroom (bearing in mind my current house is the only one I've lived in with an upstairs one!)

"Whoever heard of a downstairs bathroom, thats absurd!"

Um did we never realise that toilets started off outside!

I work in Asda in the bakery dept, and we do photocakes (where we scan peoples photographs onto cakes). Ive had SO many ridiculous requests for them I dont even know where to begin but one of my favourite times was when a man came in with this pornographic image which had been photoshopped to include his girlfriends head - you couldnt see anything explicit but it was definitely of a pornographic nature..I had to call a manager down to tell him we couldn't do it because he just wouldnt take no for an answer off me!

I used to work at a popular High Street newsagent, and we'd often run out of big bags, so if someone bought something like The Guardian on a Saturday (which has loads of supplements) we'd have to try to fit it all into a small bag (usually by taking each individual supplement out and folding it in half. Not a massive job, but not what you want to be doing if there's a queue of people waiting). We'd ALWAYS get people saying "Haven't you got a bigger bag?" looking at us as if we were so stupid - one time I got so fed up, I actually said "If I had, I'd be using it, Sir!"

Someone wrote on my leaving card "We will miss your excellent customer service!"

I also used to work in a newspaper delivery office and this was one of my most annoying things (I wrote this in the Pet Peeves thread too)
Phone rings
Me:- "Hello *insert name of department I worked in*, how can I help?"
Customer:- (no 'hello') "Is that *insert name of department I said just 2 seconds ago*?"

YES OF COURSE IT IS, OTHERWISE I WOULDN'T HAVE SAID "HELLO *DEPARTMENT NAME* WOULD I???!

Now I work with long-term unemployed people, and I really love it, but I just want to cry when I'm chatting to someone for the first time, asking them what sort of work they'd like to do, and they say:
"I'd like a job with a salary of £150,000 a year, 364 days' holiday a year, company car, start at 11am, lunch at 11.15am for 5 hours, then an afternoon break for an hour at 4.30, then finish at 5.30."
It wasn't funny the first time, but after 60 million times hearing it.....aaaaaarrrggggh! One of my colleagues knows how much I hate it when clients say that, so she wrote me a note the other day with those words on it, and put it on my desk , grrr!

Oh I wouldn't know where to begin with this one! But, I do hate when customers use your name.

"Hi a_a, can you tell me where this is... Thanks a_a*" and so on. Just because I have a name badge doesn't mean you have to be creepy and use my name like we're best buds :P

lmao i am so glad its not just me that gets this!! the best one for me is as you know iw ork at millies cookies and it has a baskin and robins, so i go to the baskins counter and i say 'can i help' and they say yes please, ill have one single scoop...... so i look at them and say thats great but what flavour and they respond ooh so you have to choose?? well yeh

Also they say things like, how many am i allowed and i respond..well how many do you want to pay for?

the thing is, some of the things are so small, but when you get it all day everyday it gets annoying.

AAAARRRRGGGHHHH or worse still:
Me: Hello, moose speaking.
Them: Hello, moose speaking!

You're not funny.

And a_a, that used to really get my goat too. We used to swap name badges just for the fun of it.

I'm guilty of that too! Usually when they take too long to pick up, I'd be doing something like housework and not pay attention until I hear a human being. When I hear that human being's voice, what they say doesn't register so I'll ask, "Hi xxx department?"
Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I stay up and think of you and I wish on a star that somewhere you are thinking of me too...
So I wait for the day and the courage to say how much I love you

i used to work for vodafone in one of their stores. people used to come into the store (bearing in mind everything in the store is red with "vodafone" emblazoned all over it) and say "have you not got that on o2?" "no, madam, this is a vodafone store." "oh ok. well i was round in your other o2 store and they had it in stock" "yes but this is a vodafone store" "ok, just give me a £10 o2 top up card" used to wind me up. also when people asked for "zim cards" "nokios" and "motorollers"
not if you were the last dandy on earth
