I'll take you out Ruth; my bf certainly won't be taking me out unless a thunderbolt hits his "thinking of someone else for a change" brain cell.

Can I come too? I've just split up with my boyfriend, right before Valentine's. I MUST try and improve my timing . . . #-o

We're not going out as places will be packed full and won't be enjoyable at all. instead we're staying in and cooking a special meal, turning our mobiles off and just generally appreciating each other. We don't buy each other presents although my boyfriend does get me flowers, bless him. So yeah, a card, a fancy home cooked meal and ourselves :)

That sounds really nice lilmissespana. I don't know what we're doing.... although Valentines Day isn't such a big deal here. On Feb 14th the girls give boys chocolate. And then on the 14th of March, the boys *might* give girls chocolate back, if they like them back. Poor girls, having to wait a whole month!

Snail you are more than welcome to join us too; we can have a double date since we are up to 4 now haha.

lilmissespana I agree, I don't particularly like valentines day either; I don't see why you need to spend a fortune on presents to say you "like" someone. It's more about spending time with that "special someone". Morrisons had decorate your own heart shaped ginger bread biscuits - I'm going to get my bf some haha (what a romantic eh?).

I never thought of that. Other half's phone is always going off at the wrong moment and it does my head in that he answers it!

We're broke so we're staying in and cooking. Hopefully he'll have a brain cell to buy me some flowers. Lol.
We get back from our holiday on the 13th, (Yes, i am flying on Friday the 13th, i am not ammused!) so it'll be nice to round off the weekend with a nice meal and night in.
You know you're a mum when the thought of food shopping alone becomes exciting.

Me and my boyfriend are gonna do that I think. He has booked the sat off from work and gonna get his mum to have his daughter for the weekend. This will be our 1st full weekend alone in 8 months!! And our first valentines day, so I'm really looking forward to it. And I don't care if he doesn't get me anything, I just want some quality time with him.

I'm gonna buy him a book we saw yesterday. It was a big book full of the fairytales we were told as kids, which he can read to his daughter. Think he'll like that :D
