That first family.

All they are after is fame and fortune. The youngest daughter was on X-Factor, but was refused and the family went mad.

Anyone remember that?

I don't remember her; that was the whole reason I looked at the article in the first place to see if I recognised her - I did steal it from somewhere else and it was said on there and I forgot to look :(

It makes me really cross. The only thing in their family that's hereditary is gluttony and laziness.

I know some people have genuine genetic problems with their weight, but ANYONE can be slim if they work at it, unless theres some reason they cant do excercize, and even then it's AMAZING how much diet alone can do for people.

I'm sick of my tax money going on fat wasters like these.

Pathetic.

They said something like "For lunch we have bacon butties, for dinner we have microwave pies and mash.."...

Hello! You eat this everyday what do you expect!

They should shop at Aldi where the fruit and veg are really cheap - you can also get those Birdseye Veg Steam Bags now which are fantastic! There is no excuse in the world that can justify these scroungers...

They don't work but yet have no time to excersize???? Atchoooo! I'm sorry, I'm allergic to bull!

I agree with everything that's been said above. I also hate newspapers that print this kinda stuff as well though. I am sure there are much more important things going on, but stories about individuals like these sell newspapers.

When I think about this in comparison to all those well-paid bankers/financial regulators/civil servants whose sheer incompetance lead to the credit crunch and consequently the economic downturn, I think this one family aren't particularly news-worthy.

The story about the Chawner family is mostly nonsense. If you look, it's only the parents who are receiving any kind of benefit which might be linked to their weight, they aren't receiving very much, and the link between their disabilities and their weight is tenuous, i.e. drawing benefit due to asthma, not specifically due to being "too fat to work". It's clear the family mostly did the story to gain the fee from the Telegraph, or possibly just for the fame.

I've been doing magazine writing on and off for years, and the editor's primary motivation for printing something like this is whether or not it will get the reader going, not how newsworthy or accurate it is. Stories like this are best ignored really as they don't reflect reality.

I agree about what somone said about Aldi.

I went shopping there earlier. Filled the trolly full of friut and veg and meat and all sorts. Absolutely heaving the trolly was.

£40. Thats its. Aldi is perfect i love it!!!!!!!!

The only thing i dont buy from Aldi is my daughters Nappies and food. I'd prefere to spend a little extra on the brands.
