I am going to KILL someone.

Postby rufio89 » Fri Apr 24, 2009 1:59 pm

I lost my passport a few weeks ago so I IMMEDIATELY went on the passport website and applied for a new one because Im going away on the 15th May. They said they'd send me a form I just needed to sign and send it back, so I've been waiting patiently for this to arrive in the post.

I just called because I hadnt recieved it yet and they said "oops, looks like there's been a technical error, you'll have to fill in a new form", so now if i send off for it normally there's no guarantee ill get it before i go away, so I'm going to have to pay an extra like £30 to get it fast tracked, so it's gonna be like £100 because THEY messed up.

I am SO angry, I dont have that kind of money spare :(

That is annoying. Since they're the ones that messed up, I'm sure you will be able to get the £30 wavered. You might have to kick up a fuss about it mind.

I agree with RagDoll however...if you kick up a fuss they might accidentally slip your form to the bottom of the pile. Is there no option of going to a local passport office?

With Technical errors I don't know if you'd be entitled to get your money back - we have an australian girl at work and when she was applying for her visa to work here they sent around £300 or so for it - the immigrations people messed up and it cost another £300 odd. There is no harm in asking though.

I said that's not really fair since I did everything when I was supposed to and it was their fault it got messed up, but he just said "'fraid theres nothing we can do. you'll have to get it fastracked if you want it guaranteed or send it normal post and hope for the best".
He was a bit rude.

I now have a passport-related headache

You could possibly call back and ask to speak to a manager - it depends how much you can be bothered to argue over it. Alternatively, you could write them a letter?

Typical UK though - having to suffer for someone elses screw up.
Remember how the runway lights looked one night long ago when you were lost and found your way, and how-you still dont know?

That happened to me a while ago.

In the end me and my Mum had to travel to Liverpool to go pick the thing up. We wernt amused. But we made a day of it in the end lol.
You know you're a mum when the thought of food shopping alone becomes exciting.

When you and your significant other are having an argument, just take all of your clothes off during the spat and stand there. Something is bound to happen!! =]

Turkey

We booked cyprus b/b in a hotel but when the euro crashed we swapped it to Turkey. Fantastic deal as we are now all inclusive (24 hours including all international drinks) for £50 more. We have saved loads of money

on the subject of killing people i want to kill bupa insurance. I rang early April to approve some treatment and they said my cover had started again and i would be covered upo £1000. £389 later they said it was wrong and should have been from 1st May. I told them i would have waitd for the appointments if I had known i wasn't covered. They are going to try and "find" my call and listen to what the lady said. I will be £711 out of pocket if they don't find the call- aarrghh!!!!!!! :bomb: :grrr:  :-X
