How much sleep do you need?
Personally?
How much sleep do YOU need to function, how much do you need to feel awake and how much would you sleep if you didnt work/didnt have to do anything.

Re: How much sleep do you need?
I like to get at least 8 hours, but if it were possible, I'd love to have about 10 every night! I love my bed
If I have less than 6-7 hours I can't really concentrate properly.

Re: How much sleep do you need?
I normally have about 7-8 hours sleep. I'd like more but sometimes it's not practical to do so.

Re: How much sleep do you need?
I need about 8 and a half to 9 hours (such a pain!). Any less than that and my productivity drops right away and I can't function well at all. But I don't want any more than that, even if I have time on my hands. I always sleep until I've had enough, then get up, whether I'm working or not - I rarely use alarms.
I'm so jealous of people who only need 6 hours sleep - they get several more hours a day of life than me!

It's so nice that you don't have to set an alarm, Snail. I would love to just have the amount of sleep I need, then get out of bed, but unfortunately my alarm usually gets me up (on week-days anyway)

Re: How much sleep do you need?
My alarm wakes me up on weekdays too but that is only because it is set for 6.15ish
.
I normally wake up on weekends when I've had enough sleep.

I never wake up without an alarm on weekdays
I think it's the time of day my body doesnt like, I'm fine getting the same amount of sleep at the weekends.

I'm not human until I've been awake two hours or more. I wish my flatmate could grasp that!

I'm the same Rufio. It's only going to get worse now we're heading towards darker mornings too. Boo!

Re: How much sleep do you need?
Since commuting I have needed more sleep, and I start feeling really rubbish by the end of the week. I tend to wake up before my alarm, fall back asleep and then struggle to get up, and darker mornings do not help.

Snail, I agree - mornings shouldn't really start until midday, and nobody should say a word to snails/people like us until then.
In the week, like everybody else, I don't get enough sleep - however much I get...

Re: How much sleep do you need?
To function properly I need arond 8 hours.
But i only get about 4-5 hours on some nights and other nights i get the 8. It's my own fault half the time. I see a film i MUST watch or i'm on the computer. Then my Daughter gets me up early and then all day all i want to do is sleep.
I'm not a nice person when i don't get enough sleep lol. I tend to pick arguments with people just to get a reaction out of myself lol. I'm a crazy bird.
My Step Dad annoys me though, he doesnt use alarms either. He wakes up automatically after he's had 8 hours.
If i was left in bed with no child, no boyfriend and just silence. I would sleep untill around tea time lol.

You know you're a mum when the thought of food shopping alone becomes exciting.
When you and your significant other are having an argument, just take all of your clothes off during the spat and stand there. Something is bound to happen!! =]

Re: How much sleep do you need?
Kerrie, you saying how tired you are now your pregnant again just reminded me of something.
During my last month or so of pregnancy, i was sleeping a full 12 hours. I was having to go to bed between 8pm and 10pm just so i didnt sleep through untill the afternoon.
Miss those days lol.

Re: How much sleep do you need?
I think i need more sleep than anyone, If i dont get a full 12 hours Im tired all week. and even when I have a full 12 I still need my alarm to wake me. I hardly ever get a full 12 though because id have to go to bed when my kids do, so Id never have any time to myself. I usualy get 10 hours and I pay for it every day.
But i dont think im ever truly awake till iv had my morning brew.

Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.
