Argh RMT strike

Not really a huge problem, more like a chance to moan- but the RMT strike is planned for next week- which means I won't be able to get to work, and its also on the day I have booked my stupid exam, so it doubly sucks. (I don't mind so much about the other days, could just take my holiday) There are no real other ways to get to work or home again, I have registered on car sharing websites, but think its not gonna work out. God this sucks!

edit: changed wording slightly, exam isn't stupid, but it feels impossible at the moment.

Can someone give you a lift to your exam, so you don't have to worry? Can you remind me, which exam is this?

Unfortunately not sure I know anyone who makes that journey, it's 40 miles away, but I have tried to find carsharing sites that might have people going that way.

It's the exam for the course I have been doing, configuring windows server 2008 AD. I have already had to postpone it twice, and go away for my next course soon too. It's also getting to work for the rest of the week. Maybe they will come to an arrangement. :)

Good luck for your exams. :)

Although I think in a way its abit of a shame for union that they have been stopped. I mean the cut in jobs and increased working hours for maintenance staff sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Thanks captain.

Yeh I can understand why they are, though not sure it will help. It is difficult though in that I wouldn't have been able to get to work all week. There were no replacement services at all. There will be another strike I am sure.

I passed my exam for those who are interested. It wasn't a brilliant pass, but still a pass- so I am happy, and then next week I am on another course.

Yep, I have at least another two courses and exams to go. Then I will be a MCITP Server Administrator.

No I am pretty sure that if I told people that they will just think I am a spod.

It basically means I am an Microsoft certified server administrator- its like accountancy exams for IT bods, although you don't actually have to do them, its just nice to have them.

Ooh I hope it goes okay Captainf, and that you start feeling better.
