Thunderbirds live action movie

Postby Enigma » Mon Dec 08, 2003 7:49 pm

Currently in production by 'Working Title Films', the live action motion picture will see the inhabitants of Tracy Island working to stop their enemy The Hood from using their craft for his own means after he infiltrates the Pacific Ocean hideaway.

Bill Paxton will play Jeff Tracy, the head of the house and father Alan (Brady Corbet), Gordon (Ben Torgeson), John (Lex Shrapnel), Scott (Philip Winchester), and Virgil (Dominic Colenso). Sir Ben Kingsley will play the character of 'The Hood', and Sophia Myles and Ron Cook will fill the roles of secret agent Lady Penelope and her faithful chauffeur Parker.

The screenplay was written by William Osborne, and Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek is directing. Producers: Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Mark Huffam. The Thunderbirds live action film will be 'Working Title Films' biggest production so far, and will launch a film franchise.

Can't wait. The film's been in production since March 2003, and it will have a global release in 2004. Just thought I'd let you know about this if you didn't already know it was on its way.

I watched it growing up too, in the second run of the episodes. Have Gerry Andersons autobiography and everything lol. It's going to be interesting to see how closely the live action craft match those in the original programmes.

Scott's imaginary birthday is 14 April. Mine's 15 April, so because of that he sort of became my favourite character lol. I went through phases of favourite craft, out of Thunderbirds 1, 2, and 5.

More info. Film will be set in 2010 and will be released on 06 August 2004. The character of 'Brains' will be played by Anthony Edwards. You've probably seen this already, but here's the productions version of FAB1 as designed and produced by Ford:

I knew Sophia Myles. She went to my secondary school. Few years older than me. Has always been a good actress!

Love the pink car... :D
When you reach for the stars, you may not quite get them, but you won't come up with a handful of mud either.

Just remember to keep smiling!

So who is playing parker then? I hope it is good, seems a shame to tarnish the image of it.

Is it just me... i have never heard of any of those actors or actresses! I have never really watched much thunderbirds either but would probably watch the film. I wouldn't have a clue what was going on though because i know none of the background to it.
Doesn't really matter what the eye is seeing

misatok11, Ron Cook will play 'Parker'.

Nope that's right saz, apart from Bill Paxton, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Sophia Myles I don't recognise the other names of the cast members. I'm sure the first film will be one you can enjoy and get into without knowing the back-story.

It could be a good chance for those little known actors/actresses to make a name for themselves. I too am looking forward to it. I also used to watch it as a kid (way back)
When all things in life seem blue,
And there's nothing you can do,
There is One you can turn to,
His name is Jesus, He loves you.

Don't look before you leap, you'll only decide to sit down.
