Irreversible

Postby Fidel » Sun Jan 11, 2004 8:12 pm

I watched Irreversible last nite with my friends and it's the most weird, sick and twisted film i have ever seen. It was well done though.

Has anyone seen it?

I am traumatised.

Trust the french.............

Do u know it takes a lot to traumatise me but that film which included a man getting his faced smashed to pieces with a fire extinguisher, a transsexual prostitute and a graphic rape scene was enough to make you sick.

I dont know why people watch those films but nowadays even the news is pretty traumatic in itself.

Fidel it sounds horrible but do you think it has taught you anything or shown you a glimpse of another 'world/life'?

Hey Saz,

Is revenge really not worth it? What I mean is, I know theres no need for physical revenge...eg beating someone.... however, in other respects, is revenge not worth it?

For example, I left Safeway 2 days ago, because I was treated rather badly there (everyone complains there about their supervisors) and so I handed in my notice at a point where now, my department will be 1) Under staffed 2) Very busy for the next 3 weeks...... to me, the fact that they treated me badly, and now that i've left them at a point where they can't afford to be under-staffed, has made revenge well worth it...... they shouldn't treat their staff badly, if they want to keep their employees.

All the best

If you want a film that questions revenge watch Frailty, the ending blows you away and makes you question if he was wrong.

The majority of the time, revenge is a wasted effort. I have also left a job for similar reasons, and took pleasure that i left them in the lurch but i am sure they can't even remember me now, so it doesn't give me a good feeling of revenge now.

I have taken revenge on people in the past, not physical violence or anything but it has always backfired on me because no one likes a vengeful person, and they then retaliate leading into an unpleasant vendetta.

In my view it is so much better to walk away with your head high because going out of your way to seek revenge can be like lowering yourself to their level. It only gives you a temporary high.
