I like anime but i dont see about of it to know what to watch and whats good. i started watching it when channel 4 showed films and tv shows late at nite but they stoped doing that years ago.

I just watched spirited away now that was a good one tho a little weird

i've watched stuff like dragon ball z, gundam wing, vampire hunter d, akira, cowboybebop, streetfighter2 and tekken. i think i prefer the weird stuff with demons and dragons and things with mobile suits.

what makes it anime and not just a cartoon?

Anime Is created in Japan/China and Korea, It`s plots are mostly for adults, but there are some good kids ones too.

for example Pokemon,Digimon,Sailormoon and Shaman King....

If you`d like to know about Anime/Manga try this website- www.animenation.com or www.anipike.com

The best Adult ones I`ve seen are Ninja scroll, Urotsukidoji, Wolf`s rain,
Love Hina and Vampire Hunter D.

Ok top manga films i would recomend are:

Akira - Old but still the original and best

Ghost in the shell - In its day was the most advanced and technologically sound film.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Where i got my nickname from. Its crosses religious boundaries and is excellent. There is a whole series and two films
Death/rebirt and the end of evangelion.

Bubblegum Crisis and Tenchi Muyo are also good.
