Diaries

Have you ever kept a diary, do you currently maintain a diary, or do you intend to start doing so? I'm referring specifically to private diaries and not public blogs.

I also used to keep a very detailed diary at a time when I was doing stuff I didn't want people to know about. My brother found it, and it was not a good time, so I destroyed all my diaries (a bit late by that stage!) and now really regret destroying them, as I would love to look back and see what I wrote. I am kind if tempted to start a new one in 2005, but I never feel I can be completely honest anymore, just in case the same thing happened again - even though I live on my own now.

You could maintain a public online journal under an anonymous identity!

Yes, I do. I've kept a diary since I was about 14. I have a pile of old ones in a drawer. I don't write in it everyday tho, just when the mood takes me.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

I write regularly to a friend who lives abroad, so I can now read through the stuff that happened over the last couple of years, and think "no! really? wow!" (not too many wows, actually...)

When I actually wrote in a proper diary, I wrote things like "I'll never forget today!". Huh, guess what... #-o
