The spammers now seem to be posting IMs to people containing dodgy links. If you receive a suspicious IM from someone you don't know, which contains a link to some strange website - just delete it. See below for one that I received recently...

Subject: Important Information
Sent at: 22 May 2009 15:35
From: acklianer
To: Jo

it seems very interesting information...

The text 'it seems very interesting information...' was a link which I did not click on. If you get one of these messages please IM an administrator so that we can delete the account.

Thanks!
Jo

Thanks for letting us know, Jo - it's funny, I wouldn't dream of clicking a link in an email, but somehow a PM from ProblemPages always seems safe to me, so I might not have realised.

I received one of these myself this morning for the first time. Good job Jo had alerted us. I deleted it.

I've PM-ed you, Pee. Sorry, I would have reported the member, I just hadn't got around to it yet (too busy reading threads on here  ).

We deal with spammers very quickly here, petal - when we catch them, we drop a piano on their heads, THEN we delete them...:bounce:

I just want to say "thank you" to the PPers who highlighted the last two spammers in the last 3 days (gone and forgotten now...)

I think it's brilliant that we all work as a team to keep PP running smoothly! You don't see that on other websites, how GREAT are PPers????? =D> =D> =D>
