Flash Chat?

Postby Catherine » Wed Jul 05, 2006 9:53 pm

Hiya. Everytime I go onto flash chat, I dont know if either its because nobody is there or they are but I dont know how to find people. If other PPers are signed in to flash chat will it show up on the screen or do i have to click somewhere to find people and start a chat?

Thanks.

Also - how do I make my posts come out with colour, large and all the rest of it. I've tried searching how to but cant find it. Any help much appreciated! :D

Catherine, you're right, there aren't people in the chat room all the time. In the chit chat section there's a thread where you can either organise a time to chat to others in the chat room, or even just post when you do go in to let others know. This way, those browsing the forums will see that you're in the chat room and are more likely to come and join you! When others are in the room their names will appear in the list at the side, so you'll see they're there.

Oh, and the post size and colour thing, do you mean on the forums or in the chat room?

Thankyou x x x

Ah, that part's easy. Just write what you want to write, highlight it and choose the font color and font size you want from the drop down boxes right above the bit that you're typing in.

This will add (if, say, you choose blue)

Code: Select all

with your text in the space in the middle, which will come out blue when you submit.

Hey, thanks for the reminder. Just to let you know that the mods can't sort this one, it'll have to be looked into when Jo's next on.

Seems to work ok. At the top of flash chat there is the room name and it has some drop down arrows for you to choose the room you want. May sound like teaching people to suck eggs but a lot of people forget this.

Misatok, a while ago I entered the chat with a few other members (non-mods). Although I could see the drop down box (took screen grabs to show them), they couldn't see it on their end, so for some reason it must only be visible to mods/admin. That's where the whole problem lies really!

Just so you know, I've had a look at this but havn't had time to mend it yet, or even find out why its broken, but I'll have more time during the last half of December so I'll aim to sort it out then.
