I think firstly your colleague may have been pulling a fast one or may have decided that you shouldn't be in work if your sick so did it to make a point
I know you shouldn't have to discuss your business with others but if you are frequently being sick at work I would tell other people the problem so they don't think of you as a germ spreader
When anyone sneezes here everyone looks at them like they have the plague and avoids them all day. Not that I care I coming in even when I am barely able to walk but we are all different.
Anyhow I think looking at the bigger picture you are not appreciated and as more hours are spent working than anything else other than sleeping you should find a job you enjoy more
You could temp while looking for something else or you could just start looking elsewhere straight away and stay where you are for now
