Further update; The hospice have been in touch, and because my sons death wasn't caused by cancer etc.I don't fall within their remit for counselling.
However, they gave me the number of a local bereavement counselling centre, and I've got an appointment with them on June 5th.

Well that's not too long to wait, anyway. In terms of the counselling offered by the hospice, I'm surprised that it matters what your son's death was caused by, really, but at least they did tell you where to go for help.

Let's hope a chat with Citizen's Advice will give you some options re the money worries as well.

To snail; Thanks for your reply.I take your point about the hospice, but to be fair, when my GP suggested them he wasn't sure if they would be able to help or not. Before they gave me the number of the other centre, they'd rung them to make sure they'd accept me.
Re Citizens Advice, each time I've tried ringing it's just an engaged tone.Just so everyone's aware,I'm at work tonight till 7am,so I'll be off-line from 6pm onwards.
Once again, all your help and advice is giving me the strength to get things moving. Many many thanks.

Update; My GP is going to contact our local social services on my behalf.
Also,I've found out there is a money advice centre locally,so I will be ringing them ASAP to see what can be done about my debts.
Got bereavement counselling coming up,so gradually I'm getting it all sorted out.Once again, many sincere thanks for all your advice.
