I'm afraid that is incorrect. Infact the only modern speed detection equipement that DOES flash is the fixed roadside camera.

All other radar or laser based equipement does not offer any visual indication that it has recorded you.

ok sorry ur probably right. just all the ones around my area flash i know that because iv seen so many people go through them.

I never thought i'd say that I 'liked' speed cameras, but if I had to choose one type it'd be the ones that flash. I don't know about England, but in Scotland they have to painted bright yellow so people can see them.

These sneeky ones are, in my humble opinion, nothing more than money-makers.

it's illegal for them not to be bright yellow now and to have warnings you are approaching them if they are fixed
It's the mobile units that you have to watch for but if you slow down enough as soon as you see it then it can often be ok

Try not to worry about it.
Remember how the runway lights looked one night long ago when you were lost and found your way, and how-you still dont know?

What you need to do is get it into perspective, whats the worse that will happen - a fine and 3 points. You life will not be ruined becasue of it.
The likelyhood of the camera being in operation at 4am is unlikely. They perfer to have them on when there is more chance of catching lots of people
