hey there

i wouldnt worry yet. you will get something in the post if you did.

all policeman are different. some let you off for up to 35 others will do you for going 31.

you will only get three points on your license for that offence so as long as your careful you wont get another three.

once you get 6 points though you do lose your license. but like i said dont worry if anything it will only be three points. you also get a £60 pound fine with this. and obviously your insurance will go up once you tell them.

dont worry, be careful and be safe.

You can stop worrying, petal.

They HAVE to write to you within 14 days; you would have heard by now, so calm down! :)

 im starting to come to the conclusion that i just should stop driving full stop. Everytime i go somewhere i have never driven before i panic that ive been speeding even though im really careful with my speed now and now im starting to worry that i have jumped some red lights even though there was no way i would have stopped in time and they didnt turn red until i was literally on top of them. Driving stresses me out so much i really dont know if its worth it. xx

if it is considered dangerous to stop (slam on your brakes) when a light turns amber it is ok to continue and effectively jump the red light at the last minute

im bak again...i think its been about 2 months but now i need some more adivce. i was at some traffic lights this evening waiting for the light to turn green so that i could turn right. The two lanes next to me were to go straight ahead and there light wnt green about 3 times n mine still hadnt changed. So when it was clear to go i quickly pulled away and went straight on rather then right. Then i realised there was one of those grey traffic cameras behind me. Do u think it would have flashed me even though technically i wasnt jumpin the lights coz i ddint turn right???

I dunno but I'd assume they were just speed cameras but I don't know.

the flashes are pretty big so you would have noticed but you can legally go through a red light safely if it hasn't turned green for a long period of time - unfortunately I don't know the time limit but three turns of the lights next to you seems reasonable

I know this is an old post, but just as a little information, a lot of these road side cameras are actually ANPR or Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras and NOT speed cameras. In other words they're reading your number plate, checking it against a database of known offenders/uninsured vehicles/untaxed vehicles and catching the cars in use.

Cameras in vans does not mean they're out to catch you speeding, at least not all the time.

"if it didnt flash hun then your safe from the police"

I'm afraid that is incorrect. Infact the only modern speed detection equipement that DOES flash is the fixed roadside camera.

All other radar or laser based equipement does not offer any visual indication that it has recorded you.

At the end of the day worrying won't stop you getting a fine if your getting one anyway
just remember though it is law they have to write within 14 days of the offence
