Name for something

Postby Tarantula » Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:04 pm

(Wow, my self-esteem sticky that I wrote AGES ago is still on here..!)

Anyhow. Wasn't sure where to put this...

I'm working with ITV on a project to raise public awareness of child abuse (for everyone in the south, I'm on ITV on the 25th at about ^:15pm!) - and I'm making a support website.

I've got the content, template, logo etc... But I don't have a title! I need a name for the site. Something really symbolic and cool, but not too hard to spell (it will also be the domain name and the e-mail address [whatever@hotmail.co.uk]).

I thought of 'Second Coming', as it has a nicey religious reference and obviously, means the day of justice etc, when Jesus descends from heaven and.... Saves children from paedophiles. Anyway.

The problem with that is, it's already the name of a Stone Roses album, and a search on Google would prolly result in too many religious links... And possibly porn.

Any ideas?

Does it need to have a religious tone? You could try something like "Strong Nation" .

Wot a wonderful thing you are doing.

Nah it doesn't have to have a religious tone - although I think I just, right now, came up with a good name..! *Drum rolls*

...

... 'Retribution'!

What d'you think..?

15pm? Im confused.. do you mean 15:00 which is 3pm? Or did you mean 6:15pm.. inwhich case you'll be on the local news?
Remember how the runway lights looked one night long ago when you were lost and found your way, and how-you still dont know?

I think she means 6.15pm; the ^ sign is on the same key as the 6.

Anyway, will you not encouter the same problems with a one-word name as you will with a name that is shared with a famous album? i.e. you google 'retribution' and return every site that contains that word?

Yess.. But I doubt retribution would return as many, and the ones that do appear on a search won't necessarily be in the same context - whereas someone trying to locate my site might get confused by the endless Christian sites if it's called 'Second Coming'.

Yeah I meant 6:15pm xD and yes, local news. It's about 5 minute film and I'm not identified - they've shadowed me out or only shown the back of me etc... But everyone in the team thinks that my website, once completed, will attract a massive amount of attention.

But we'll see.

Just a thought - if i put "self esteem" into say google, i wonder would it pick you up if the name was not connected?

I thought of "rising esteem nation" but i am sure you could think of better
whatever your problem someone else has been there and bears the scars.
