Period... Pill... help?

Postby rufio89 » Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:31 am

Hi all,

Right I've been on the pill for about 2 months now and I've not been on it before.

I'm about midway through a pack so I've got about 2 weeks until my break. I've been getting period pains the past few days, and yesterday I got like (sorry, bit graphic) a gush of blood, like I get at the heaviest part of my period. I sorted myself out, and it seems to have stopped, I've not had any more blood...

Is this weird, should I be worried? It seems weird to me. Usually on my period I get a day or so of really light flow at the beginning and end, Ive never gone from none to heavy like that...

I'm not OVERLY concerned, but there is a bit of a worry at the back of my mind, just wondered if anyone knew what this could be really?

I would get it checked out with nurse or doctor

I wouldn't worry too much, when i went on the pill my periods went funny for a while.
I think it's just your body getting used to the change.
Wouldn't do any harm to go to the doctors though! Just to make sure :D

Agreed! For the first three months on the pill, my periods were completely different to the way they were beforehand - if you're really worried, see your gp, but he'll probably tell you to give it a bit more time for things to settle down. :)

I had no problems, but it can mess with your body for a while. I often mid way through get a bit of pain but thats it for me.
