Glad you're feeling inspired and hopefully a bit more up-beat :D

(PS: Thanks for the compliments! You haven't seen a full-body shot though, hehehe)

Good luck, Spacegirl. Hopefully the advice here is of some use to you.

hahahaha snail.

I've put on so much weight lately that my dad's friend even asked if I was pregnant. It's bad enough my parents keep asking me :(.

My friend is a bit like you spacegirl but she got talked to like a kid because of her height and not her weight, my friend was also annorexic and she loved the attention she got from being so skinny, the skinny attention took away from the attention of her height. She's actually stupidly vain and kept "mentioning" (bragging to you and me) about people not believing how old she was...she actually had a really old face. She's an ex-friend now, she went to uni and basically decided that me and my other friend weren't coold/good/skinny/pretty enough to be her friend.

I can't imagine that you really look pregnant Dipsy! Perhaps it's just because they're so used to you being ultra-slim? I'm sure you still have a great figure.

My MD said to me the other day "was that a few years back when you got fat?"
I am never speachless but I was quite taken aback
I used to be a size 10 but very out of proportion, no boobs, sucked in cheeks etc but large bum and thighs
Now I am a 14 but very hour glass. Alwasy had a big bottom to the point i was nick named nappy a**e for a few years. But now I have the boobs to match
When I recovered my composure i simple replied yes when i started eating normally i became a sensible size. My doctor has told me that i am obviously perfectly healthy. (even though my bmi indicates i am not)
MD has a pigeon sized wife, size 4 if she is lucky so i am not going to get offended by him.
Besides hubby loves my curves

I wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction that he got to me, he seems to enjoy trying to humiliate people and I am one of the few people he hasn't managed to do it to, not that he knows of anyway
I also have given him a few sarcastic returns before now and he seems to be a bit wary of pi**ing me off
He obviously had a brave day or was just completely thoughtless

Well done for having such restraint! I think I would have wanted to kill him, but then again I might have been so shocked that I wouldn't have known how to react!

I would definitely be cocky/sarky back with someone like that, despite their position - it's not right to be so blantantly rude to someone!!

Oh I do. From the front and back I look normal, from the side I have a huge belly. I'll have to take a side on photo and post it.

isn't it unbelieveable what people think is acceptable to say to others?

Yeh, it is Spacegirl. I remember one of my friends told me that she'd gone into a take-away shop to collect a pizza and a couple of girls in there started going on about how they couldn't believe she ate pizza because she was "so skinny" etc. etc.

To be honest I think people forget that people are sometimes offended by others calling them too skinny, just as people get offended if they're called too fat. I guess it's partly because society/magazines etc. almost celebrate/encourage slimmer frames as opposed to larger figures.

i know, tell me about it. that's exactly what winds me up. people should keep their opinions to themselves if they've nothing good to say, no-one should call anyone "TOO" anything. too thin, too fat, too short, too tall... if it's too something, then it's going to be hurtful.

True!

I've had people come up to me and say "oh you are tall"...my response that I WISH I had the guts to say "oh really, *looks around* so I am, thanks for pointing it out"
