INTERVIEW IN 10 DAYS ADVICE NEEDED!!!

Postby crazy_in_love » Tue Dec 25, 2007 1:00 am

I have a job interview on january 4th for a new job within my company. It will be like an interview for a completely new job and the fact i already work for the company doesnt matter.

I really want this job soo much so I want to prepare for the interview as much as possible. I wont be able to prepare 100% as they use a socring system at interviews and are looking for specific words in my answers which I will have to guess what I think they want to hear!

The role is of an assessor, basically we have a massive recruitment need which will last a few years and I will basically help run the assessment days, doing the interviews and role plays etc. I need advice from anyone who has done this sort of thing before to help me sell my skills in the best possible way. i just need interviewing skills.

Anyone got any interviewing tips in general would begreat!!!

My advice, which can only be quite general as i havent worked in your field, may be of use.

Read, Read, and read again, the person specification and job specification. Work out what skills you need to demonstrate and you can then work out what you are likely to be asked.

If you need to do a presentation, keep it as to the point as possible. Look at each interviewer in turn when talking. Use any "buzzwords" appropriate to your industry, and emphasise the people skills you have.

The more confident you seem, and relaxed, the better you come over. Ask some friends to "interview" you and see how you do. Good luck
whatever your problem someone else has been there and bears the scars.
