Don't you just hate it when...

Postby spacegirl » Thu Jul 16, 2009 1:53 pm

someone else screws up in a big way in work and then goes on holiday leaving you to deal with the consequences??? Aargh! I have 2 weeks left in work, and this problem will basically mean that I will be getting daily abuse from French people for the next two weeks. I know I should just deal with it now, but I'm half tempted to leave it til Monday and ask my colleague to follow it up, she knew this would happen before going away so I'm having trouble getting motivated to deal with the abuse I'm going to get. It is going to ruin my weekend and I know I'll be tempted to check my work mails at home. GRRRRRRR!!!!!

Yes! Or someone just screws up, but you somehow get the blame!

Anyway, back to your problem... I know it's hard, but you've only got 2 weeks left of work, so try and remain philisophical about it. Do your best to sort it out by all means (or as you said, make the person who messed up sort it out when they're back) but don't worry about it and enjoy your weekend - in a few weeks time it will be of no consequence at all!

Thank you Ragdoll, you are very rational. I'm just raging that this is going to stress me out in my last 2 weeks of working here!! The angel on my shoulder is saying "just get on with it" (especially seeing as my new job is a sister company of the one i work in) and the devil on my shoulder is saying "leave it til monday!!!"

My fingers are poised over my keyboard getting ready to send out the email, I might write it just before going home and avoid checking my mails tomorrow. If I can't see it it didn't happen lol!

Haha, I think you did the right thing ;) Remember, it's only 2 weeks before it's not your problem anymore :D

Had your company upset that person in any way so they decided to make things more troublesome before going on holiday?

Im only asking because I left a job once at the worst possible time for them when they were under staffed and the staff they did have were unrealiable. I wanted to make them suffer so jumped ship at a time I knew they would suffer most.

I once got blamed when I worked in a supermarket for it snowing by a customer.
