Stupid Job Application!!!

Postby RagDoll » Tue Aug 04, 2009 10:46 am

AHHHH!

I have just spent about an hour filling in an online application form and saving my progress as I go along (to my emails), but the link it is supposed to send hasn't appeared in my inbox yet and I think I might have just lost the whole application :( Any ideas as to where it might be? Do you think it might just be delayed and the email will come through in a while? Have checked my junk folder etc. but nothing!

It might just be delayed.

I was going to say can't you ask your IT department, but I suppose you can't given the content.

Haven't you got any of the saved stuff?

Nope, can't do that, don't think it'd go down too well lol.

No, I haven't saved it, it's not that I don't know what I've written, it's just the hassle (and time) of typing it all back out again.

I've emailed the organisation I'm applying to about it, see if they can retrieve it for me.

Does it state on their site that it could take up to 24hrs to come through? I know for some emails it does state things like that.
Is it possible that your work email account may read such emails as spam and stop them coming through?

Nope, it doesn't say anything like that. I've actually applied there before and had the email straight away, so I'm assuming something has gone wrong/it's lost in the ether!

I didn't input my work email, I used my personal one.

Still waiting to hear from them - how frustrating!

Hmm that is odd. I wonder if it timed out while you was filling out the info.
I guess you could wait and see what happens tomorrow or try filling it out again at home. If it doesnt work again contact the company.

No email received and no response from the organisation re: where it might be! I guess I might have to try again, but I'm concerned the same thing will happen.

If you try again and the same happens, at least you can e-mail again and say that it clearly isn't working and are there any other alternatives to apply?

Agree with abovr and can you print it stage by stage so you can show them what you managed to get done

Have sorted it out now - found a Word version of the application you could just save as you go along and attach to an email, so it's sent off now.

Thanks for the replies everyone :)
