You could maybe suggest that you'd like to try some of the DIY yourself, or would he come and help you do it (i.e. you do it, and he helps). Or buy a big lockable box to keep things in out of his way.

How about getting a lock on your bedroom door

The locakable box is another option

I would just like to add that unless your Dad doesn't have any respect for your privacy, I doubt he is going to go looking through your stuff, even if he is in your bedroom, so surely it's just a case of making sure there's nothing private on show?

Obviously I can only speak from my own perspective really and appreciate your Dad might be different - but I know my parents wouldn't go looking through my draws or anything, as I wouldn't if I was at their house. It's pretty obvious that you'd be out of order doing something like that!
