Girl at work

I'm 30 years old and have recently started a job as a manager. There is an 18 year old who works there. She is the prettiest girl in the store and has a grear aura about her and an amazing personality. I was suprised to find out she is only 18 as she seems so mature for her age.

We have always got on very well as she is naturally a chatty person. But over the past few weeks, I think she has been quite flirtatious with me. She tells me that she misses me when we are away from each other and seems to go out of her way to be close to me. In any other situation, I wouldn't hesitate to ask her on a date but this is a bit more sensitive. I am not bothered if my work would condone it as there is already a few work relations with supervisors, managers and staff. My concern would be if she said no and how that would effect our working relations and how I'd be portrayed.

I am an old school and have always been the one to ask a girl out.

How should I play this one? I'd love to ask her out but unsure how and if I should do it.

Thanks for reading.

In general if you are a manager it is best to keep relationships separate from work, if the general workforce looses respect for you it is harder to have authority. So tread carefully before you date this girl make sure she is not going to recount her conquest of you next day to her mates.

I would avoid at all costs. Relationships and work rarely have a happy ending and I personally think the power of dating the boss will be the thrill not you as a person.
