Hi Emma

You can link to a picture on your own web space but please make sure the size is no more than 80x80 pixels. You can set this up in your profile.

The only way to do it is to get yourself some web space and learn how to put an image there.

The chances are you will have some free web space with your Internet account.

There are loads of tutorials on the web about preparing images for the Internet and uploading them to your web space.

Once you have got your image sorted and uploaded it to your web space you can put a link to it in your profile - then it will show up next to your name.

Go to Google and search for 'web image tutorials' or something, that should get you started!

The other way is search on google images for the pic you want:

- when you find it right click on it
- Click on properties
- When the box pops up look at the address (URL)
- Highlight this text
- Right click on it
- Click Copy
- In the link to off site avatar right click
- Select Paste
- Hey presto you have an avatar
- Check it is the right size and not huge

Hiya Misatok. I've done what you said but they all seem to be much bigger than 80 pixels by 80! does it matter if it is just a little bit bigger than that..?

Your avatars are wonderful!

Just make sure you don't link to any images on a normal site though because that's classed as stealing bandwidth [-X

Unless, of course, you get permission first or its obvious that they don't mind.

I had to say this just so you don't get yourselves into trouble! Does this mean that I am a pedant :?:

It probably does.
