Will I ever get my "ECDL" ?

Postby morris mouse » Thu Mar 09, 2006 1:34 am

Hi there,friends !!

I would really like your help/advice on this,as,while time goes on,I'm
becoming more and more concerned about it.

That's my problem,and what I'm asking---Have I got enough time ?? #-o

You see,at college I'm studying "ECDL" [European Computer Driving
You are allowed 3 years to complete the course, and I've ONLY
got until June of this year to complete mine.

I've already passed 5 of the 7 modules and,at the moment,I've
finished "the book" for database---I'm now studying the theory.

My problem is,that, due to events beyond my control,I can't sit the
Database test for another 2 weeks

After Database, I've only 1 other module to do [Basic Concepts] which
is only reading

Am I "in with a chance" because Basic Concepts is ONLY reading ??

So what do you think:-- Am I "in with a chance" or have I "blown it"

Your help/advice,on this one,is MUCH NEEDED

P.s We have 2 weeks holiday in April---Which just makes matters worse!!!

is there any way you can plough on with databases for the timebeing, and do the "Basic Concepts" stuff during the easter break - i.e. take a book home and study?

THat way when you get back from easter, you'll be ready to sit both modules and wont have lost any time!?

There should be masses of stuff on the web that you can research during the holidays to keep yourself ready for it...........

That no problem at all, i had to miss one aswell, i just explained to the examiner wat was going on and he let me sit two exams at once, it took a bit longer but if you're quick enough it should be fine, ask and see can you do the exam with the reading one?????

Is Basic concepts the written one or module one?

I'm on databases now, and it's my last one, but I still have to do the written test.

Could you go back and do the test any other time? We can do ours either in the class, or we can go back on a lunchtime and do it. Could you arrange this with a teacher, or go in to another ECDL class when you have a free, just to get the test done?

I am in the gifted and talented group at school (not sure why) and have been given the opportunity to do ECDL.

I have done all the modules accept Databases (which I failed) and will retake it tommorow. The porblem is that a teacher who is also taking the tests borrowed my revision CD and he hasn't been at school, so i am totally un-prepared for this test.

you can definately do it, my dad did exactly the same course quite recently and as long as you study for it and pretty much know your stuff, you should do well, have confidence in yourself and tel yourself you can do it.
stay motovated and good luck
