When I put an avatar up, I tend to right click and save it to my computer. Then I use an online storage website and upload it onto that. Then you're given your very own URL, and that works.

www.photobucket.com is a good one :)

Unfortunately avatarity.com doesn't allow hotlinking to images so you will have to save and upload a photo to an image hosting service like Liquidius has said. Good luck and let us know when you get it sorted!

Bumped for xxpurplexx.

I can't actually remember where I got mine, I've had the same one for about two years as I'm lazy and can't be bothered to change it!

There are lots of "emoticons" "smileys" or "winks" websites, where you can download them, upload into Photobucket or something similar, then paste into your profile, as Liquidius says.

Does anyone actually know where to get decent avatars?

I have to say I quite like the vintage ones myself.

If you want your own personalised Avatar you can always find a picture you like and resize it to the forum guidelines and store it on Photobucket.
