s.t.i

Post by chosenfew » Mon Nov 13, 2006 2:22 pm

in my last post i told you my bf thinks he has thrush. well the other day we were talking and he was tryna tell me that you can just catch s.t.i's without having sex. i know this is not true as it wouldnt be called a sexually transmitted infection if you could just catch it.

am i right or is he??

Sexually Transmitted Infection - it's transmitted via sex. Luckily, you don't "just catch them". Thrush can be transmitted via sex, but it isn't a sexually transmitted disease, because you can also just develop it.

There are a few acceptions - such as herpes, which has be transmitted many ways, as can HIV.

Hope that clears a few things up.
