Nobody jokes about it but I hate sounding so weird.
It has got worse lately and I am desperate. :(

If it's really bothering you that much then perhaps you should look at elocution lessons or speech therapy - worth a try, can't do any harm.

I think I am going to look into speech therapy.
I have started avoiding certain words as I know how weird I sound.
It is really affecting my confidence and I hate myself for it.

Why can't I just be normal? I have a weird voice,look about 17 even though I am nearly 24,have no boyfriend,hardly any friends/social life/body of a 12 year old,in rubbish job.
What is the point?

don't despair
if you have the speech therapy then your confidence will build and that is the key to making new friends and then geting a b/f
at the moment you are not interacting with others properly becasue you are afraid of how you speak, once you resolve that all the other issue should naturally start to get sorted
You could also look for another job once you feel better about yourself

When people comment about your voice, why instantly think the worst? Instead of feeling self concious about it, embrace it! Whether your from london, ireland, wales, scotland, the midlands or the north, a voice is a voice. Chances are, people arent making fun of you at all.
