Re: Gardening/Plants
We don't have a garden which is a bit of a pain, but we've made our yard (we've nick-named it a yarden now, as it's not just a yard anymore, but not quite a garden!!) nicer by adding hanging baskets and tubs. I'm actually surprised at how well the flowers have survived considering I have no idea about gardening.

As I was saying to Dipsy in another thread, I want to grow something edible eventually, it's just having the time and inclination to get around to doing it!

Ah, yes, that brings back a few memories of dates I've had . . .
Well my chilli is grown "oop norf" in a norf facing window and it's tiny, my bf's is in a south window and it's HUGE, far too big. I only want one chilli from it anyway, the chillis were bf's idea; I just said I'd steal a couple of seeds.
We can't grow tomatoes without some form of greenhouse thing and we don't have space for a green house thing.

Your Yarden looks really nice.
I like your geraniums....mine grew HUGE; imagine a big geranium and triple it - they went to the big recycle bin in the sky this week cos they were just far too big!

Re: Gardening/Plants
Mixing with the soil to improve drainage I would think. It will depend on the soil and what you are planting.

Re: Gardening/Plants
Yea for drainage.
To be honest I only ever buy cheap-ish soil, most things get sand and soil mixed in. I like cheap soil, I have bought expensive stuff and it came with a whole load of bugs for which I am STILL trying to get rid of (It's been almost a year later). So I like cheapo soil as I've always found it bug free lol. The only issue with cheap-ish soil is that it has a lot of sticks/bark in it, I don't like it cos it always gets in my way but I just throw it away.
My two new empty strawberry plants are now (or will be by tonight) full of water
. It's forecast bad weather all week as well...I also pulled my back yesterday so no heavy shifting of soil for me.
