Some news

Postby kerrie24 » Wed Sep 09, 2009 12:36 pm

I didnt know where to put this really as Im not really wanting advice as such, just general discussion. We have just found out we are having another baby!We have 2 allready, aged 7 and 3 and didnt plan anymore. It is just sinking in that this is actually happening to be honest.I know it is early days (about 6-7 weeks) but I find it easier to discuss things on here as I dont have to see anyone face to face if you get what I mean.So.... aaargh how will I cope?!

Well... Urmmm.... Congratulations? If you want it? Lol.

Secondly, you'll be fine. I'm pretty sure you do an excellent job with the two you already have.

You eldest is in school right? And your youngest won't be far behind. So think of it this way, your other two will be in school most of the time and that leaves the whole day for you to bond with the new addtion.

And by the time the others get home from school, your partner will be home too i imagine? And i'm sure he will help out.

You'll be fine!! :)

And if not, i'll have one! :D Joke lol.
You know you're a mum when the thought of food shopping alone becomes exciting.

When you and your significant other are having an argument, just take all of your clothes off during the spat and stand there. Something is bound to happen!! =]

Yeah my youngest starts nursery on tuesday, everybody is presuming I did it 'on purpose' to fill the gap she would make, but it was such a surprise.
My partner is a good help but he was just starting to work towards a promotion which means a massive change in his work hours and sometimes I will be by myself all day,but I dont want to stop him from doing that.Im sure I will manage, just have to be very organised I suppose. Thanks for the congrats by the way.

Im sort of hard to explain shocked lol, first I was bad shocked, then I thought,oh well, its happened now and I can cope.I mean its not as if i havent done it before. But its hard to explain, some days I dont believe I am pregnant, like the tests lied or something.I just cant get used to the idea.Plus I KNOW my partner wanted to stop at 2,so Im worried he is pretending hes ok with it for my sake.

Kerrie, I'm not really sure what to say, but I am sure you will cope ok - as you said, you've done it before. I can kinda imagine that it must be hard to get used to the idea at the moment, but I'm sure whenever he/she comes along you will be delighted, as will your partner :)

I just want to say congratulations. Babies are so cute :)
You have a good partner and a steady relationship so having a 3rd child is really a lovely thing. You have a nice family growing there and thats so special and precious. :)

If your husband is working towards promotion i assume that means more money
Make sure you get babysitters (even if you have to pay them) and have plenty of time together as a couple doing things you both enjoy.
Get the older kids to help out so they don't feel pushed out by the baby and to help you with things.
I understand it is daunting but you have done it before and you will manage again
I assume you wouldn't consider an abortion if it's not what you both want? If you feel your husband is really upset talk to him. Tell him you are daunted by the whole thing too.

I dont think he is upset as such, just shocked, but then again,it takes two as they say!lol
I wouldnt consider an abortion no way,I couldnt do that just because it was unexpected,he/she will still be wanted.I have been looking at the babys development on the computer and Im feeling a little bit excited now.

CONGRATULATIONS.

I'm sure your partner may have wanted to stop at 2 BUT...you didn't plan the next one so you have to accept the fate and I'm sure you will both be thrilled once the initial shock wares off :).

As Bel Bel said get the older kids to help; help the baby get ready and help feed etc; although I'm sure you don't need us telling you what to do since you've done it all before.
A hug is a great gift, one size fits all.
