No, im familiar with magpies as we have loads living round here and they're a simple bird to ID.

I've found out what it is. Its a rare bird apparently, partially-albino blackbird.

I'm now kicking myself for not photographing it as it was in my dads garden every day!

I was going to ask did you not take a photo of it (but I figured you would have said so).

Normally I would of. I dont know why I didnt!
I think normally I dont photograph birds because they rarely sit still and fly off if you try to get near.

Very inconsiderate of them eh? One of my newts does that; unless he is swimming and then he seems to pose.

My turtles are mating :P
I have discovered due to the mating habits I have two boys and a girl - I didn't know the sexes before.
The are so cute when they mate. The boy gets on top and rubs his head on the girls head. It looks like they are kissing
I have been on the look out for the girl planting the eggs. She has been digging about in the gravel so I think she is looking for somewhere suitable as they don't normal go digging.
I will let you know if we get babies
