cleaning old coins

As the title says,does anyone know how to get old pennies clean,like so you can see the date on them?Im using them for something im making but some of the older ones are a bit scruffy.

put them in coca cola for half an hour and rub them whilst they are in it

hi i think vinegar or coca cola as bel bel says, I have a vague recollection of an episode of how 2 many years ago!! :)

One day I was gossiping with some of the girls at work, while our little trainee sat gazing blankly into space.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, she said seriously "did you know that if you leave a steak in a bowl of coke for two days, it will dissolve?"

We just creased up laughing, but - no! You shouldn't have drunk the coke, kerrie - quickly have some ice cream to neutralise the effects! :bounce:

Well, now obviously when I read that I had to as well, Rufio! :sick: :evil: (Along with all the other members who're reading this thread, I'm sure, not to mention all the non-members who read these forums!).

This thread better get a bit nicer, or I'm going to abuse my powers and lock it [-X I want someone to say "Don't look up 'Cute fluffy baby kittens'" or something like that.
