It's mine and my girlfriend's half anniverssary on tuesday and as much as she'll protest against this i have to buy her something for it. Now technically i have till the Summer holidays because it's a long distance relationship and we don't see each other that often. But what i want, as i'm sure many of you have figured by now, are some ideas for presents. Now affordable please (as in within £40 maximum) and for a laugh... tasteful please.

Ogadai, as far as I remember you are quite young...how about getting her a CD and a teddy bear? with some chocolates? You can go to Thorntons and get a message put on.

Ogadai- can you cook?
they always say a way to a mans heart is through his stomach, for me personally its the other way round!
why dont you create a beautiful candle lit dinner for her?
it would be such a nice personal gesture.

from the seeds you have a harvest full of dreams.

I've seen the rolos before however I've always thought it's expensive for a nothing that you can't do anything with. Jewellery at least could be worn.

My friend has asked for contributions towards her honeymoon as a wedding gift and I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to present it? Obviously I could just put some cash in a congratulations card, but that seems very dull! I don’t know where they’re going, so I can’t get the currency changed.

Also, what do you think is a reasonable amount of money to give? (considering we’re not close friends)

I'd say £10-20.

A family friend just asked for money and they'd set up a little wishing well just to put envelopes in. I'd just put it in a card for them, there isn't anything much more you can do.

someone else had the idea of getting a photo of the honeymoon destination and putting the currency of the country can you ask where they are going? If not do the same but put pounds in.
If you can't find out where they are going becasue they haven't decided how about a card without a specific destination by very holiday looking
there isn't much more you can do

Well if you can't think of anything yourself it will be difficult for us to.
Do you have any hobbies or interests? It may help give you some ideas.
I am pretty good at thinking of unusal stuff but have to know the persona bit.

One idea, I know how much you love your son. Can you give her a favorite pic and ask her to get a t shirt, mug or something. Most photoshops can so things reasonably cheap.

For anyone looking for pressie ideas, I know a fab website!

http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/

Word of warning, this website may seriously affect your bank balance....

www.firebox.com is amazing too

The Marmite Chocolate, Love Heart Tea Lights and the Addictaball have been bought more than once and always gone down extremely well

Again a great site that can damage your bank balance

Present idea needed!

It's a friends 30th next weekend, it's someone I used to be really close friends with but we've drifted apart in recent years and I dont see much of him these days so I dont really know what he's into!! All I know is that he's a final year medical student, and that he's really into fitness - he does those mental ironman competitions. He's also a little bit geeky (in the tv shows and movies sense). Any ideas?!
