quotes for tattoos

Postby fairy of darkness » Sat Dec 25, 2010 1:38 pm

Hey kids,
I haven't been on here in a really long time.
So, im sorry if this has been posted before as a topic...if so im sure the mods will link it up.
But im getting a tattoo done on monday and am pretty set on a quote.
But i want to hear your ideas or if anyone else has tattoos of famous or motivating quotes.
I want a life quote, one about being fearless even though you're scared.
without it being tacky.

Anyone help?

Not sure how much space you have so some may be too long, they may give you other ideas though:

One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching ( I love this one :D )

The most important things in life aren't things

Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today

Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending

Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes

Never waste a minute of your precious life by squandering it thinking about people you don't like

Look at life through the windshield, not the rear-view mirror

Don't worry about life, you're not going to survive it anyway

Music is a safe kind of high
Life is for living so live it to the fullest

I think the most important thing is to make sure you pick something that means something to you!

I want a tattoo!
Trying to think of quotes and places, I really like the 'music is a safe kind of high' one :)
I also like 'Live for today'
Anyone else got any other ideas, or any ideas where on my body I should have it?!

Sorry just saw this...did you guys get your tattoos in the end? Which quotes did you pick?

I had this one done in July last year. It's a quote from Walden by Thoreau, however it's slightly changed because it was used by Chris McCandless (Into the wild). Also the wriing it's in, is Chris' hand writing. I chose this because of not only what it says, it's a beautiful quote but also because Chris means an awful lot! I'm adding the Chris McCandless Foundation logo, his dates. And having another quote from Chris elsewhere tht says "Happiness only real when shared"

Did you get the tattoo then Fairy? Show us! :D

I think Bel Bel's sign off is really good for a tattoo...."Life is for living so live it to the fullest"

I used to work with someone who had "One Life. Live It" on the back of their neck. I admired the sentiment, even if it didn't look like nicest one in the world.
Go to Glasgow at least once in your life and have a roll and square sliced sausage and a cup of tea. When you feel the tea coursing over your spice-singed tongue, you'll know what I mean when I say:

LOL I won't be getting your sign off as a tattoo.

I think words can be really nice if in the right area and meaningful to other people and not just yourself

Chinese symbols are really quite nice too but you have to make sure you aren't getting a rude word instead of the word you want

An ex of mine had beautiful tattooed on him and he went into the chinese restaurant to ask what it said - bit late after he had it done but it was correct :D
