How did you meet?

Postby highlandcow » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:53 pm

Every time someone asks me how I met my other half, I feel so excited about telling the story (we met on a plane) that it made me wonder....how did you all meet your other halves?

Does anyone else have a lovely story to tell?
Go to Glasgow at least once in your life and have a roll and square sliced sausage and a cup of tea. When you feel the tea coursing over your spice-singed tongue, you'll know what I mean when I say:

Aw, that's nice, Bel.

I would post on this thread but I don't have any exciting stories - I've met people in pubs, colleges, at work, and several on dating sites. I am a very conventional snail :-s It would be lovely if someone had a very romantic story to tell, like meeting on a mountain top or in an orphanage or something.

One of the best meeting stories I've heard about the parents of someone I used to live with.

Her dad is Japanese and used to be a merchant sailor when he was a young man. Her mum lives, and always has lived in Fishguard, and she never used to go out, but was persuaded to once by her sister, who had just broken up with her boyfriend.

So on this blue moon going out she happened to start talking to this Japanese sailor who was in Fishguard for 2 days. Nothing sexual happened between them but they exchanged addresses and wrote to each other - for 6 MONTHS! Over the course of those 6 months he decided to come and live in the UK where they got to know each other, fell in love and are still married 20 odd years later. Awww!

Feels so strange being back on here :D

I met my current boyfriend at work. I always said i'd never ever get involved with anyone I work with but me and him just clicked. We have been together since around the end of September last year. I'm really happy with him and his family are such lovely people too :D
