Valentine's gifts in a new relationship

Post by all_apologies » Sat Feb 09, 2013 2:57 am

Hi all... Not so much a problem as asking for ideas. I just started seeing a girl last week, we're spending a lot of time together and are pretty smitten. I've not before been in a situation where Valentine's has been so early in a relationship and am trying to think of appropriate gifts? Just today she sent me flowers as she's out of the city and wanted to do something cute, so I probably don't want to give her flowers on Valentine's.

What have you guys done in the past, any suggestions?

It's tricky, as you don't want anything too full-on. I think all you can do is something low-key and conventional - a basic card and maybe something edible - chocs or a lovely small cake?

Research it first though. I sent a girl flowers and chocolates ones in an effort to cheer her up. Turns out she was a diabetic that suffered from hayfever.

Wow. What are the odds!? #-o
Hope she appreciated the gesture?
Go to Glasgow at least once in your life and have a roll and square sliced sausage and a cup of tea. When you feel the tea coursing over your spice-singed tongue, you'll know what I mean when I say:
'It's good to be alive!'"

You would have thought that she would have appreciated the effort.
