But you're not everyone. I certainly dont have a drinking problem but I like to have a drink at the weekend or at the end of a stressful day - it DOES relax people, it's actually scientifically proven to have physically relaxing properties (as opposed to say cigarettes which have a psychologically relaxing effect but not a physical one), but I could easily go days, weeks or months at a time without a drink.
Not everyone who drinks is in danger of becoming dependent, and most people keep their drinking habits under control.
Maybe you can relax by having a cup of tea and listening to music, another person might relax by going to the gym and having a good workout, another person might relax with a hot chocolate and a good moan, someone else might relax with a hot bath, someone else might relax with cannabis, and others might relax with harder drugs. So long as theyre not doing anything that's hurting anybody there's nothing morally wrong in any of these, and assuming there's nothing illegal involved then there's nothing wrong with any of them, legally or otherwise. Having a drink or a few is an easier, more socially acceptable and usually nicely social way of getting together and letting off steam. Obviously for some people this winds up getting out of control and they cant stop, but these people are in the minority and usually have other self-destructive personality attributes.
